SURF'S UP: The Power to Fully Feel

One of the main themes in my practice is the utility in being able to fully feel. This can be a simple phrase but proves complicated at times to truly understand. The idea of avoiding difficult/unpleasant feelings is described in our field as experiential avoidance, and it is a behavior we are all guilty of from time to time. In order to increase the satisfaction and emotional intelligence in your life you deserve to move away from avoidance and towards actionable awareness. Staying present with unpleasant emotions is hard for sure, who wants to feel sad, or mad or vulnerable or helpless? Not many of us.

In order to develop a better understanding and to give you a formula to start increasing your confidence to experience all emotions fully I am attaching this Ted Talk by Dr. Joan Rosenberg. She lays out the “Rosenberg Reset”, which is a step by step model you can use to move towards unpleasant feelings, feel them fully , stay intentionally present and then use the wisdom of that difficult feelings to move towards what you value. By the time you experience a difficult feeling it is already there, to avoid it further is to only kick the can down the road. Let me help you learn how to pick up the can, look inside and learn from the useful message within. You are worth it.
